his name is spelt Chong chul Rhee
he is the Australian father of tae kwon do.
i also know that hes the president of the TKD instructors federation. for Australia and new zealand.
he also used to train the korean marines . im also aware that he has a good reputation as a person not to be messed with.

aah sorry about spelling i wasn't thinking properly. I was just sort of wondering if anyone knows anything about his past. I know he was part of the ten? tigers brigade or something like that (sorry can't remember exactly how many there were) which was a group of general choi's disciples who fought in the vietnam war. And apparently he was very feared in the vietnam war. Does anyone know any more background info because it's very hard to find out Mr. Rhee's background as he does not often talk about it and will not even say his age

i'm probably going to be the one filling up this thread asking questions but just out of curiosity, is Rhee the Korean version for the family name Lee?

after talking about Rhee tae kwon do again it go me intrested and i went and talked to my instructor about him and i found out he used to train under him. he told me that when he was younger and was a black belt in Rhee taekwondo, mr. Rhee was getting alot of chalenges by other martial arts schools and instructors. most of them thought that he new nothing and was just another martial artist trying to start his own academy, but when a few poeple were beaten by him after challenging him, a the more seniour belts went to have a try and they were all badly beaten aswell and he erned a big reputation as a very dangerous person. i could see why being a part of an elite group like that.
im pritty sure that he also used to train in a form of karate for a while.
