| Right now i take Muay THai kickboxing but i want to start a martial art just for the street. What do you think is the best, and most well rounded(strikes, weapons, defense agiants weapons, and grappling) combat art? Is there one? IF so please tell me what you think. thanks |

an external kung fu art, perhaps?
it will include weapons, and defense against weapons, but why would you want grappling when you take Muay Thai? |

i think muay thai would already be a primo martial art for unarmed combat.. but if you want strict street defense skills, krav maga or civilian defendo come to mind. or as ad said, an external kung fu style.
personally i'd say stick with muay thai, thai fighters rule.

Perhaps try a mixed martial arts class...or try several styles. Right now the focus seems to be mainly on grappling arts.
Kind of get the feeling jahred studies Muay Thai. Being that he is from Calgary one thinks he trains under Mike Miles so his opinion may be slightly bias.

but just to clear any offense
if any internal art is mastered, and fully understood, its real physical power is overwhelming

Shaolin Kempo is an effective blend of all the elements you described.

If you joined the police force, wouldn't they have their own martial arts training, or at least recommended/approved schools and styles? Or am I overestimating most police forces?
Hehehe... I can see why Muay Thai might not be the best thing for law enforcement! I think the Japanese police faced the same problem with training officers in Karate. They had it going for a while in the 20s, I think, then abandoned it because they didn't really want police officers beating the $#!+ out of suspects...
I believe they instituted a Judo program after that, and I think Judo was (could still be) big with the British police and armed forces too.
As a law enforcement officer, I'd say you'd mostly be wanting to stop people fighting, control them, take them down and immobalize them, preferably without inflicting too much injury which could cause problems later with "excessive force" charges and so on.
Perhaps something like Judo or Aikido would be useful. But like I said, don't police have their own "no nonsense" training methods for this stuff?
