WHAT IS GOING ON? the school i currently go to just really * me off. it is an akido school, that is trying to get a lot of money. there were 12 belts from white to black. in one week the school went from 12 belts to 30 belts! how many belts are there in other school. i know a traditional style dosnt just change the number of belts, so i am now wary of this teacher, what else could he be changing? this happened to my friend's school also. what i am trying to say is how can some one just change an ancient style?
i guess i am just venting.

that sounds very strange to me...........how does a 30 belt system work? seems like a lot to me. is testing involved with each level?

This definatly sounds fishy, Akido is not suposed to run on a belt system at all.

i have seen the como. belt in A.T.A. TAEKWONDO schools. in those schools the stripes are for the progression towards the next belt.(so students feel they are headed in the right direction)

just for the info.........
