Hello, Talk to your Sensi in private and tell him of your concerns.
Prevention is better than cure. It does not take much to take someone eyes out, or slash someone.
That person is proud of the weapons,is showing off, and does not realize someone can get injury.
Again talk to your teacher about this in private. ........Aloha
PS:If your teacher does not do anything...than if something does happen he will be responsible. |

It turns out that someone else must have said something before I could because my sensei talked to him. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. _________________ "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius |

Yeah that's one solution BUT, it might be good to introduce a weaopn kata or two into your dojo, since weapons and unarmed combat has been described like two wheels of a cart, one does not funtion properly without the other, also i believe that anyone who does not know how to handle a weapon is unqualified to defend against it, just er, my two cents there, if your dojo is highly opposed to such things completely ignore me, I've been known to make little sense before anyway. _________________ I wish I wish I hadn't killed that fish |

We are in no way opposed to weapons, my instructor just doesn't know enough to be able to teach them. If we had someone who knew their stuff I'd imagine my instructor would be very happy to broaden what is taught at our school. This idiot who brought weapons into the class though thinks he knows a lot but he is a liability to himself and others since he cannot practice safely with them. _________________ "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius |

XMA stands for: eXtreme Martial Arts. It incorporates the more "flashier" techniques with acrobatics for show purposes. The original creator (if XMA was ever just created) was Mike Chat, one of the power rangers:

However it has developed more and more towards the tricking side of things:

That's my interpretation anyway. _________________ "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius |
