He came out on the field in a Louisville uniform. The poor guy does not look like he's doing well. I know there's debate about whether his Parkinson's was caused by chronic encephalopathy from boxing, but it sure makes you want to strap on the head gear. What a shame for such a great fighter. Good on him for getting out on that field tonight. _________________ Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.

I didn't see him tonight, but I have seen him recently, and he is a shadow of his former self. Nothing like he used to be. You have to wonder if he took too many shots to the head, though. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

Watching a documentry recently it was interesting that they mentioned ali having parkinsons "syndrome" not parkinsons disease.
They also noted that the syndrome has a number of causes, but they beleive in ali's case its from repeated trauma to the brain stem. |

I thought that he had meningitis, or something like that. Very interesting. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

I'm not sure headgear helps all that much. Since you never take a blow to the brainstem directly - it's the shaking of the brain that does much of the damage. Headgear doesn't protect you from having your brain shook about inside your skull. |
