I think that you should talk to the sensei, and tell him that you will not comprimise your training because of this situation. Tell him that you will be professional about it, and if the other persons cannot be professional, then he should tell them to cut back classes.
Any instructor that asks a student not to attend classes sends up red flags to me. Just me, though.
