Hey everyone,

Here's a video I put together, part of a series actually, about the double leg sweep. It's my opinion of how it can be used in MMA fighting. It has always served me well. Let me know what you think.

It wouldn't surprise me. It's a pretty common technique among martial arts. The setup is sometimes different.

I love your honesty, ps1!

I think you could make it work, but it would need to be quick. My partner and I do some takedowns like this for our DT training.

I can't help but be honest. Afterall, no one's ever gonna see my name on any UFC highlight reels:D

It works very well in Karate and I make it work in our MMA training. But I'm not exactly fighting anyone who is world class on their feet. I think someone with excellent timing can pull it off though.

Yep,

We got that one in wado too it’s called Ohyo Kumite Sanbonme.

This vid shows it as more of a throw, but correctly it’s done by breaking your opponents posture, by levering them back against your arm whilst your hips rotate in opposite direction. Pretty much as you show. They key being the rotation of the hips.

Its because there really isn't a whole lot that is new under the sun when it comes to fighting and the way the body works.
