Well i wouldnt be too quick to call it a mcdojo...

you need to find time/strength to talk to your sensei, if he's not willing to hear you out/help you out, then it becomes a real problem for you.

and it could be just stylistically...atleast in during my shotokan stint, it was very intense physically in all aspects, yet we really didn't spar much at all (the one downside)... in hindsite i would have loved to have tried kyokushin but there were none around where i live, but like PAL said, i doubt i could afford a serious injury which is somewhat common in the MA.

Honestly if you are not doing kata, kihon, and kumite I think something is wrong. I could not imagine doing karate without all three. Thats why I love Chito-ryu, we do everything.

I at least talk to your sensei if he does not want to talk to you then leave and find a new school because then you no then that you did the right thing if that makes since.
