Negativity can be quite helpful, because it breeds conflict, and conflict is the heart of Martial Arts. Mankind thrives on aggression!!! Being antagonized will make you a stronger person, you should be thanking JerryLove.

Actually, Chi is quite real; that bioelectric energy you keep mentioning? That's Chi, right there. What everyone here is talking about is whether or not you can affect or control that energy...and in my experience, you can.

I have a chiropractor (the third one I've had who does this, mind you), who can diagnose almost any imbalance in your body by placing his fingers in different spots while testing the strength of your right arm by pressing down on it while you hold it out in front of you. The simple way to describe it is, each point signifies a different organ/joint/vertebrae/facet of the immune system. The arm goes weak when he connects with a problem in one of those areas. I've experienced this first hand, and not only does he always find the problem and fix it with an adjustment or supplement, he can pinpoint the cause...even if it's an emotional one. I've been surprised many times by him telling my something about my life, that I might be dealing with, and that directly correlating with the problem I might be having at the time. It's remarkable, and if you'd like to try it yourself, visit a chiropractor who also does kinesiology and ask him about 'muscle testing'.

My point of hashing all that up to you is this: There is most definitely a flow of energy throughout the body, and it can be read and affected and manipulated. Whether you want to think of it as Chi, Ki, or bioelectric energy, it doesn't matter; it's all the same thing. I've never met or heard of any legitimate story of someone actually creating sparking Ki balls that can knock things over (HADOOOKEN! Ahem...sorry), but I do believe - as I've experienced and practiced it myself - that it can be rechanneled and focused with exercise, and it can affect you (and other people) in ways like pain relief/healing, strength and vitality increase, as well as increasing perception and focus. I name those in particular, as I've experienced those myself; but I have heard from other people many stories of being able to channel it offensively. Taijiquan and Aikido, at the advanced levels, are all about controlling, affecting, and channeling Chi, both of the opponent and yourself.

I'm sure someone will find SOMETHING about all this to argue with me, but hey, that's when it gets fun.

Welcome to the world of acupuncture/acupressure.

To put my comments in context, as a qigong healer; I do the same trick without touching you at all.

There certainly ia a chi. I don't find that your statement that "chi=electrical current in your nervous system" is something you have established.

I don't believe that Chi and bioelectricity are the same thing. Bioelectricity cannot be controlled very easily externally, mostly only your brain can control it. The only external ways that I know of to control bioelectricity are the highly invasive ones, like a taser or getting electrocuted.
