You know Sohan, I think most people are the same way. It wasn't until I was testing for my purple belt that I realized that I needed to focus more on becoming better in my techniques than achieving my next rank. I am a Nidan now and do not care when I will test again. I just want to be really good at what I am doing now. _________________ A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others. |

my teacher has always told us that at black belt is just a person who has good control of there body and has put in the time to learn the basics _________________ " to learn how to fight without fighting, is like learning how to swim on sand."

One of my instructors once said it's not the belt that's important, it's who you are that counts.
I also heard a story a while ago about a yellow belt sparring a brown belt, the brown belt thought he would have some fun and ended up getting his butt kicked on the floor. Looking a bit confused the yellow belt pointed at his belt saying "This didn't hit you, I did". Never judge a book by it's cover eh? _________________ [b]Richard Gregory
