Roy is awesome - i've benefited greatly from his stuff over the years.
His approach to BJJ is largely due to the fact that he's also a JKD guy - one of Paul Vunak's top guys.

I have a pretty extensive archive of stuff by Roy - If anyone would like a copy just post here and I'll do a mass email.

He raises some good points, but the biting should be a last resort. Biting someone can pose some serious health risks to the biter, with hepatitis and aids. If it were life and death bite, but not before that.
I agree that the bite is effective. In scenario training at work, acting as a perp I have bitten an officer before to gain the advantage. Playing my role as an unarmed perp with nothing to loose.
My favorite is also the old pinch and twist, grabbing a piece of flesh between the thumb and index finger and twisting. People will jump, and forget alot of things at that point.
I agree that street fighting is a whole different ball game....
