I've never actually timed how many punches I can do in a second. I've seen some very fast people who can errr..... extend their arm a lot of times per second but I wouldn't call it punching.
I have timed how many quality stick strikes I can do in a given time - as our striking patterns in Eskrima are done by the stopwatch under grading conditions. Seven full power strikes with the stick per second is about my best - my Instructor has been clocked at 12 - how the heck are you supposed to defend against THAT? LOL! (The answer is the ancient art of leggit-fu!)

Depends on the dialect Ad.
Kung Fu = Chinese/Mandarin
Gung Fu = Hong Kong/Cantonese

For a detailed explanation of chain punching, see the topic called 'Chain Punching' in this forum! Always check if a question has been asked before using the search button, because people get tired of repeating the same stuff. Thanks.

Doesn't 'expecting the unexpected' make the unexpected expected? |

Ah yes - so that means we must learn to expect the unexpected expected - then we will be prepared for anything that we err.... don't expect

No
Wushu is a Chinese generic name for martial arts. It's a bit like calling Japanese arts Budo, then referring to Okinawan Karate as Budo too.
