Hi, welcome to the judo forum...I personally study this at my school and enjoy it immensely! The only problem that I have is learning not to mind falling oh, well I will get it sooner or later.

I went to Judo at 9 years old until I was 11. Judo is quite fun, and very exhausting. But I lost interest in it and turned to Jiu-jitsu at 14, and I have been enjoying it ever since!

I do not know much about Judo..but I do talk to a number of people who have studied it.
Good luck with your training.
Peace,

Did Judo for about 17 years - yes it can hurt!
Have been playing BJJ now for about 2.5 - IMHO less pain but more complicated.
Any Judo questions feel free to ask and I'll do what I can! |

did judo for about 6 years as a junior and it was great exercise and good for learning to fall properly - a skill which none of my contemporaries at karate (which I study now having quit judo) seem to be able to deal with.
I prefer the karate, but thats largely due to the fact that I'm 6' 2" and weigh almost nothing. Makes escapes from hold downs a touch difficult!
I guess I'm living proof that each of the arts has its benefits. |
