Hi, I know this topic is somewhere here but I can't find it or anything.
Ok 2008 is the olymipic is china and I want to write to the chinese to beg them to put san shou in the olympic sports. Its just as safe as boxing. (which is not safe lol oh well)
do you know where i can write to? who to write to? I dont' care if they change the rules or anything , jsut want to see it. |

It would be a good idea if you had plenty of cash to grease the right palms, the IOC being the non-corrupt organisation it is
Seriously though, the amount of time it and * that has to be gone through just to get a sport to demonstration sport level is mind boggling.
It's highly unlikely under any circumstances that a sport would be accepted in the few intervening years between now and Beijing.
However, I believe that each host nation gets to choose one demonstration sport for automatic entry. Perhaps somebody can confirm that? |

I doubt it qualifies as a sport that can be introduced into the olympics. There is a minimum number of countries that have to be active in the sport to be introduced.

I read in Kung Fu Qigong magazine a couple of months ago that it will definately be in the Olympics on 2008. They said that Cung Le will be the American team captain. They might have been wrong though. *Just passing on the info.* I really hope they were right. I might actually watch the Olympics if they had San Shou!
