I just like to ask a general question.I'm sure it's been brought up before but how would a person(say me) who has studied and been training in the Chinese Martial arts for 25 yrs be ranked compared to someone in a style like Karate that has a ranking system..In my style we have no rank,so How would you put your self or compare to someone say in karate who is a 2nd Dan BB? _________________ When the student is ready the master will appear.. |

Every system is different, so it would just depend. You might be in the 3rd to 4th dan range, maybe. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

I agree every system is different.A 2nd dan in say T.W.D may not be the same in training years or skill level say to a 2nd dan from Gojo Karate, but at least you have something to compare it to.You could say these two men are similiar in training and experience.I hear sometimes people who train in Kung fu say they are a 5th degree Black Belt I guess based on the years they put in. _________________ When the student is ready the master will appear.. |

As mentioned above, it probably isn't anything to worry about. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.
