Well i think that neither is more offensive or defensive than the other they are both the same. And i would pick BJJ over wresting any day , because it is much more damarging.
Why do you think that BJJ is more damaging than Wrestling? Have you had the opportunity to Wrestle?

Yes i have , and i think that wrestling is more of a sporting martial arts and not a defending martial arts. Also BJJ has many more deadly moves and can be applied with out breakin a sweat.

BJJ is as much a sport as Wrestling is, but just with different rule sets. In the MMA competitions, the Wrestlers have done very well combining it with the ground-and-pound strategies.

Well, that is your experience, but I am sure others have found other results as well.

What you're going to pin someone and they are going to give up? BJJ is a form of Jujutsu which was designed for warfare. Wrestling is to combat, like Kendo is to Kenjutsu.

Wrestling has a basis in combat, just as much as Jujitsu does. It has just been modified over the years into a sport. Medieval Combat Masters-at-Arms used to teach what were called "grips" that are very similar, and in fact identical, to what many Jujitsu techniques look like.

I had a friend that Wrestled in high school, and he could very easily modify his takedown-and-pin mentality to a takedown-and-punch/knee/elbow mentality. Wrestling is a very good, combative style, and it has always looked very aggressive to me, because the competitors are always working for a pin or to score back points.

Yes, take a wrestler to the ground and a BJJer or Judoka will have the advantage. However wrestlers are great at blocking take downs, and they can easily transform a pin into a nice ground and pound position. BJJ also comes from a 'sport' MA- Judo. Never underestimate a wrestler- you might find yourself on your back sooner than you think.

mmmmhhh, well i think personally that wouldn't happen to me. But it is very possible to someone who is less experienced.

I only agree on this point if you get the Wrestler on his back. If they are not on their back yet, then they are in their comfort zone. That is the main difference I see between BJJ and Wreslting. Wrestlers don't want to be on their back, and when they get their, they want to do whatever necessary to get out of that position. BJJers are comfortable on their backs, because they don't have the pin mentality. If you can get the Wrestler out of the pin mentality, and let him know that it is ok to work from your back, then I don't think it would take a whole lot of extra training to see some options from that position.
