I'm only new to Martial Arts and during training a few weeks ago I got smacked a good one on the left side of my jaw. I saw 'stars'. I took it easy for the rest of training. The only thing was that the right side of my jaw where it 'hinges' just in front of the ear hurt for the rest of the day.
The best thing to come out of it is that I never leave my jaw open anymore.
