The guy on the left hand side of the photo (Relson Gracie?) appears to have a union jack flag on his suit.

Is this a sponsorship thing? Can someone explain as I am sure he isn't British.

Well there you go. I am a brit and didn't know that the union Jack was part of the Hawaiian flag!
I suppose its true what they said about the sun never setting on the British empire.
