| While K1 allows long pants (like kickboxing, karate or tkd pants) why nearly everybody still wears shorts? |

There are many potential reasons. (Modern) Muay Thai fighters have never worn long pants, and a reasonable proportion of K1 competitors come from MT backgrounds. Traditionally in kickboxing, long pants indicate that low kicks are not permitted, and shorts indicate that they are. More likely, it is because they feel more comfortable, cooler, and able to move with less restriction wearing shorts. Andy Souwer in K1 MAX is one who wears long pants, due to his shoot boxing background. _________________ Battling biomechanical dyslexia since 2007 |

Are the legs legal targets in K1? Its been a while since I saw a match, and don't remember. Being able to see the knee would ensure that you wouldn't get kicked there. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

Low kicks are allowed in K1. |
Then my guess is to be able to see the target area better. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

There's a K-1 tourney coming up soon...should I go and find out? _________________ Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.
