Hi;
I've recently seen some videos of ATA/XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts). There's a definite excitement combining music with martial arts, but I haven't been able to find anything that works with the ITF patterns I study. Does anybody know of anything out there like this?

i dont have anything specific. but you can alter almost anything to go with the beat. find a good beat, and a good song and youre good to go. good luck!

I had an instructor that once did his 3rd degree ATA form to the Top Gun anthem. NEKyoSa is right; first, pick a song, then tailer your form to it. Slow down some techniques and use dynamic tension and the like to make it flow with the music.

| Thanks for the suggestions! So far everything I've listened to doesn't work with the patterns unless I change the timing of my techniques to fit the music. I'll keep looking! |

That may be what you have to do. Not many musicians out there tailor their pieces to fit MA forms.

| I found something that seems to fit the bill. Something called 'Kickin' Tracks'; custom music for the martial arts. It's music that's supposed to be scored for the ITF hyungs. There's an audio/video demo that shows short clips from 4 of the tracks. The guy in the video doesn't look so hot, but the music is timed to fit the hyungs. I'm gonna take a shot and order it. After I've tried it I'll post how it works out----Rick B. |

There's this club sort of near us and their instructor made up some "music" to do the forms to. Its only cymbals beaten in time to match the techniques but is good if you want to get your timing good. Not really that useful for demo or XMA type stuff.

| Just wanted to say that Kickin' Tracks is awesome!! The timing of the 'hit points' in the music really work with the timing of the techniques in the patterns. I demonstrated it for my class and now 2 of our instructors want to start using it with our demo team. Cool product!! |
