All great advice. You are being physically abused. This issue is way beyond a martial arts or self defense question, other than that you are seeking advice perhaps for the no-kidding immediate next time this happens. You need to change this aspect of your life and extract yourself and your mother. There is no way to win with fighting.
There's a great Nickleback song called "Never Again" about this very thing. Abusive situations RARELY, if ever, get better.

call the cops, if you hurt the guy while your mom is close, you might be putting her in danger as he will get more violent. DO NOT TRY TO FIGHT HIM, just get away, that is the best self defense
Also, talk to ur mom about ways to get the man out of ur lives.
