why do you think nunchaku are illegal and do you think they should be?
i dont personally think they should be illegal but i think you should have to get them through an organisation after beginning training. even though i really want a pair myself! so what do other people think about it.

I think they should hand nunchaku out to all the muggers who want them, I'll keep sometime nice and simple like tonfas for myself thanks, they can be the ones who learn by knocking themselves unconscious.

I think the nunchuka ban thing was a knee-jerk reaction to the whole ninja thing more than anything else... The whole "OMG! This is a LETHAL NINJA WEAPON!" thing. A broomhandle or kitchen knife can be just as deadly when handled right.

I think its particularly hilarious that places where you can buy a gun or a live sword, the nunchuka and shuriken still tends to be banned. Hehe in reality shuriken are supposed to be poisoned and would be pretty pi$$-poor as a weapon if they weren't...

Ever thrown a shuriken? I've seen people put them through (admittedly quite thin and plaster) walls before. That's gonna hurt anyone.

Yeah, it'll hurt, and leave a nasty cut, but it probably won't be lethal. The worst you could hope to do would be to blind somebody.

From what I was told they are illegal because back in the 70's the street gangs were using them and police couldn't stop them without using lethal force. Bruce Lee popularized the weapon so that it appealed to even nonmartial artists.

As for Shuriken they are illegal because anything with more than one blade or edge is illegal. It isn't because people were throwing them at people but simply for this reason.
