I recently came accross a workout idea that was apparently taken from a maximum security prison. Everyone of course is familliar with the burpee I hope? This was supposedly done by inmates deemed to dangerous to have access to free weights.
Basically you just do decending sets of burpees. You weren't considered a man or to be respected unless you could start from 20 and work all the way down to 1. (set of 20, set of 19, set of 1 keep in mind they only got less than 30 minutes to work out, so any longer than this time frame doesnt count.
Not sure if any of this is true, but its a fun and different endurance and stamina workout, have fun! _________________ "I once thought that life was a mixed bag, now I know it's just a bag of all" |

Not done it with burpese yet but we do do pyramid's at training usually. The worst one so far this year was when we had to do crunches going up in 5s to 60 and then back down again. I had to stop and go outside because I was gonna throw up. Really wouldn't wanna do it with burpese as I hate them.. I'd imagine the time constraint would make it 10x worse too. _________________ "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius |

It doesn't seem like there would be much time between the sets to me. It would be a killer, though. Burpees are tough enough as it is. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

This might be a dumb question, but whats a burpee? _________________ "Why do people think success is how high and fast you reach the top? Isn't it really how high and fast you bounce back when you hit the bottom?" |

I've done it with 12 sets working my way down and it was pretty rough. I try to keep the rests to a minimum, just enough to mostly catch my breath (still probly at least 30 secs). _________________ "I once thought that life was a mixed bag, now I know it's just a bag of all" |

The part that is toughest for me on the burpees is the push-up part. It slows me down, and I don't have a lot of explosiveness there. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

Thanks bushido_man96
I knew the drill but I didn't know that was the name.
The prison challange seems imposible, but obviously there are at least a few people that can do that (I am certainly not one of them ) |
