^ Yeah my weight is really the problem. I'll probably just get a 8 and have it hemmed or something, although I don't know if I could really do that without it being really too baggy.

Gi's are supposed to be loose. You get into trouble with them if they are too tight.

We have had people with 44 inch waists in 8's. For the short wide people getting gi's hemmed is just a fact of karate life.
