|
|
My son has taken up Tang Soo Do again after a two year break and needs a red trimmed Dobok (size 5 - 180cm).
His instructor can’t get hold of any and I have searched the usual UK martial arts web sites too.
Does anyone here know of any UK suppliers I may have missed or failing that, have experience of importing a Dobok to the UK from the USA? _________________ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Yeah, there is the option of sewing on the trim if I can't find a pre-trimmed one. _________________ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Welcome to the forums Saveloy.
Bit bizarre that your instructor can't source.. Though I couldn't see any from the usual MA supply stores in the UK, even ebay didn't have any. Your best bet might be to import from the States

If it's a requirement, then the supplier should be known by the governing body, and by the instructor, as well! Just spit-balling here!!

It would indeed make sense for the governing body to have a source for obtaining equipment it deems necessary. Inquiring there is probably the most logical reference. It is virtually unheard of for a dojo or governing body to expect students to find their own equipment without so much as a suggestion on what or where to obtain it. Especially something as basic as a dobok |

I use moosoolsa. They have a selection of tang soo do uniforms although I actually use the Hapkido style as their selection is bigger. In general their selection is small but They can customize the uniforms a great deal such as different colored lepel , and different colored uniforms. They can even put kung fu style tasles on the bottom. They are located in Korea however and shipping to US is rouphly 25 dollar. Just a thought. Usually a week or two tops for a custom order. High quality stuff. _________________ Hustle and hard work are a substitute for talent! |

Thanks for the replies people,
I haven’t been entirely truthful with you guys, without going into too much detail; the Instructor is splitting away from his original instructor which is way he is having difficulty obtaining one.
Anywho, I will look into importing from either awma.com or moosoolsa. _________________ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Moosolsa would most likely be able to accommodate you, but it won't be cheap with shipping. You may need to weigh that coast against having the work done on a locally bought dobok. _________________ Being a good fighter is One thing. Being a good person is Everything. Kevin "Superkick" McClinton |

I typically don't pay very much for shipping. I recently ordered 2 black belts and it was 25 dollars to ship. The belts themselves were cheap so it was repetitious close to the same cost as doing it locally but the quality is something I enjoy. _________________ Hustle and hard work are a substitute for talent! |
