Ok - here's what happened next....

At this point he was maybe 3-4 feet behind me - certainly too close for me to risk simply walking away & getting his flask over the back of my head. So I had to turn around - which meant I absolutely 100% had to take control of the situation.

I turned around and gave him a very confident "What's YOUR problem lardarse?" If he'd took ONE step towards me I'd have dropped him where he stood.

His next move took me very much by supprise. He went all trembly lipped and almost burst into tears as his bravado left him. Then he started to give me his life story - he's just been laid off work, 20 minutes ago! Wife left him & his 3 kids last month. One kid is at school and the other 2 are on the dole.

He appologised for taking it out on me so I accepted that & informed him that getting aggresive with a martial arts instructor is not condusive to good health! Any bottle he had left then plummetted from his * and he thanked me for not giving him a smack! I told him he should see his doctor & get some counselling. We left it at that. I sat outside in the car (in view of the shop) until he'd gone. He even waved to me as he went!

So - the art of fighting widout fighting prevails yet again - Yay!!!

Excellent my friend. Top notch martial arts right there!!!

(NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SERIOUS REPLY)

I think it would've been so much more appropiate to do have it like this:

You turn to face him and he has a sly snicker on his drunken face. He stands there momentarily. There is a brief moment of silence and a newspaper blows across the store floor. He looks at you and then attempts a right hook.
You stop it with a single hand and hold him at bay. He stands in shock, utter awe at your strength and abilty. He screams his war cry and attempts another attack. At this point you release his hand and drop into a low center of gravity force CHI BLAST and send him sailing across the store and through the wall behind him. The ceiling begins to cave in and the store is about to crumble. You rush over to the store clerk grab her and rush her out of the building as it collapses behind you nearly crushing you both. She profuslely thanks you as do the police who arrive later. You are made a lord and receive ambassador status to a foreign country of your choice.

Nice way to handle it though. Violence totally unnecessary there. Good call.

Yoda! FanTASTic! All the fights I've been in so far have not involved any fighting and I think this is a great success so far (and I've been in some hairy situations!).

Good for you!
