Call this a promotion if you want, my son got the key to the Dojo last night. After teaching one of the earlier classes, my son walked up to me and handed me a key with the biggest grin on his face. For some reason, the instructor gave him his own key to the Dojo.
He's 16 and got his Black Belt Dec. 16. So now, there are 3 Black Belts with the Dojo key. Mabe back-up incase no one else can make it. We also have a Dojo mascott(don't ask. long story), and she has her own key. So with the instructor, there are 5 people with keys.
My son thinks its better than a 2nd Dan promotion. |

That is a nice touch. Perhaps the instructor feels a level of trust in your son, and is letting him acquire some responsibility. Good deal. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

That's huge! At 16, it shows his instructor has a lot of faith in him. And that he expects a lot from him.
My best friend got the key to the school when he was in college. We thought we'd died & gone to heaven!
Congratulations to your son! _________________ Being a good fighter is One thing. Being a good person is Everything. Kevin "Superkick" McClinton |
