A new MA TV show is starting soon.
It was originally supposed to be called "The Bounty Hunter". It's about a martial arts instructor who teaches teens. The general gist of it is that he's been falsely accused of a crime in China (methinks), so he fled to America to take over a martial arts school from his mentor. Corny plot, but could be good.
Day: Sunday, March 30th
Time: 9:00 Eastern (an hour long)
Channel: The WB
From what I can tell, it's supposed to air every Sunday at 9 pm.
This puts it in direct competition with Alias...not a good place to be in.
So, everyone, try to check out this show if you're interested, and give it some support! I know I'll at least be taping it. _________________ 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003

Why must american television insist on continually making a mockery of Kung Fu? _________________ Visit Shaolin, Chinese Martial Arts

KickChick, I kind'a had the same "Cheesy" feely after seeing the commercials....troubled teens (that just happen to all look like models..) building relationships & learning to trust one another as they study martial arts-{{{..yawn......}}} Dawson's Creek with a few lame fights & "training" thrown in= . Russell Wong stars as the ex-cop Sifu with the checkered past......you think that sounds bad?!--my kids were watching The Karate Kid on the tube tonight, talk about cheesy! _________________ *1st Dan Oct 2004*

I saw the pilot episode. I will probably watch the next two episodes just to give it a fair chance. Sometimes TV exec's try too hard on the pilot. If it doesn't improve, it will be out of my lineup. _________________ 1st Degree Black Belt

I might watch it. Is it another one of those Kung Fu types? I'm so sick of them because 90% of them are inaccurate.
on a nother note
isn't it sad how the WB is taking in more and more teens and ruining there repuation with the cheesy programming they have, and now they're doing it to martial artist. _________________ White Belt- Shudokan Karate |

Call it cheesy, teenie, whatever...........but I saw the pilot and the second episode, and I guess I'm just not hard to please when it comes to anything martial arts related on the tube. I simply watch it for pure entertainment purposes, not to actually try and learn anything from it(physical martial arts movements, etc.). As for the story line, plot, what have you, it's all up to the writers.
As for being lined up with Alias, well fortunately for me with this satillite TV, I can't get that channel anymore, so I gotta make due with what I got. |

I survived the last episode . My 9yr old thinks is cool. I however consider it an excellent tool for martial artists..........
of how NOT TO PREFORM YOUR TECHNIQUES!!!
It is just amusing fluff that resembles MA. _________________ Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime. |
