You hit the nail on the head there. Awareness is what will be the most useful tool you have. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

Thats for sure. Unfortunatly most schools that preach awareness rarely do anything to enhance it within the students. |

I think that it is something that I would mention more often, and spend time with, if I could, in the class setting. One thing is for sure; I keep it in mind a lot more now with my line of work. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.

in kajukenbo we train mostly for self-defense techniques as our curriculum however, our partners react to our movements as they would in real life.
example: the technique, among other things, has a kick to the groin, if they dont hit and graze the leg, your partner is allowed to move out of the way, try to grapple you or hit you.
you can adapt the way you train to be more intense or less intense, gradually increasing as u get better.
btw, our techniques have to be applied at full force unless its too dangerous; you apply the armlock, you dont break the arm; you punch the chest, arms or hard parts of the head, not the floating ribs, the elbow in a way it might break or the nose or other soft areas of the face.
getting hit hard is part of learning how to defend urself _________________ <<Kajukenbopr>> Be humble, train hard, fight dirty |
