I've known a lot of people with the same experiences as many of you here... poorly trained. But I did meet a guy who was fully hard-core. He couldn't kick as high as our black belts, but his kicking speed and power were AMAZING! He came to train with our school to learn the joint locks, pressure point and throwing/falling techniques, and we all learned a lot from him about developing our kicking power.
Anytime you try to go big with a system, you water down the program and allow a lot of opportunities for lazy people to accumulate ranks like a character in a video game. Some individual practitioners, though, in any system can be pretty strong. |
