Go see some classes and meet the instructors. Then make a choice. The instructor is more important than the actual style. Of course, the style has to be something that you like as well. So check out their classes. _________________ Clint

| well i dont know much about hapkido but i have trained in shotokan and DID NOT LIKE IT because it was hard and linear i trained in TSD which i understand is similar to tae kwon i did like it but had to many high kicks but from what i hear hapkido is great for self defence |

hi guys
need a little advice. i'm planning to start learning self defence from june. the choices available to me are hapkido/taekwondo/karate(shotokan). i am looking for a martial art that would be suitable for me.
i am 5 ' 11" , medium build ,27 years old. had learnt karate for a couple of years when i was younger i.e. 12 years back. what do u guys suggest?
personally i thought of trying either tkw or hapkido . not sure which one to go for. appreciate a little guidance.

Its a simple answer shotokan , you have experience in karate so it would be perfect for you , also out of the 3 shotokan is the better one. _________________ I think that there is no 1 style , and that to truly become a great martial artist and person you must take information from where ever you can. |
