Can you do neck cranks in UFC? Neck cranks are dangerous, but very effective. _________________ "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who

Yes, neck cranks are legal in UFC- the can opener for example.
As far as wristlocks, they ARE legal in BJJ Competition under CBJJ rules |

I've been rolling alot lately and I find myself seeing lots of oppurtunities to use wrist locks in and out of the guard.
Do you know if any system of BJJ uses them? I've seen Bas Rutten use them very effectively on the ground.
Curious. |
Yes BJJ do use them , and u should to if you see an oppurtinity then you should take it without thinking twice. _________________ I think that there is no 1 style , and that to truly become a great martial artist and person you must take information from where ever you can. |

I am not very good at wrist locks when my partner is resisting so I don't really go for them. Roy Harris, is good with them and can pull them off in training. He has developed it to be a good percetage move to him. Roy is a BJJ black belt in San Diego. He is part of the Dirty Dozen which is a term used for the 1st 12 american BJJ Black belts.
Any way, I feel personally that it takes awhile to develop that skill to do it when your partner is resisting or to catch them in it. So I rather spend my time on other stuff. Its more of a prefrence then any thing else. |

Well I'll tell you a secret. The next time you do on armbar control the wrist and they can't turn their arm to escape.
Let's not call it a wrist lock for the sake of discussion, but a wrist control. The wrist control will come in handy even with a resisting opponent. _________________ "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who

I think that I can visualize what you are saying here, and if I am seeing it properly, I see how it can help. _________________ Success is where preparation meets opportunity.
