Okay guys I was just thinking about buying a folded steel Katana and I was wondering about the handle. Ive always had the regular silk nylon wrapping; but I prefer the feel of leather. I think it feels better and molds well to my hand. I was wondering though if there is a major downside to having a leather type of tsuka, like does it degrage over time or come unwrapped very easily. I might just be parranoid; but I need to know before I make an investment.

And while im at it I know this is off subject; but what is so special about Damascus steel aside from it being very pretty. Is it supposed to be stronger or something?
