I teach a bunch of high-school aged kids. Every time they know I'm going to their school (it's right across the street from the dojo) they all line up at attention in front of their classes until I "bow them in."

That's gotta be one of the best jokes I've came p with in a while, I can just picture some one walking in to a public bathroom to see a guy standing there in front stance... |

Haha, that's me right now.
And whoever said bowing while shaking someone's hand... I've done that before, too. _________________ It's more than just a martial art. It's responsibility and respect. It's friendship and trust. But most of all, it's a passion. |

here's one that i've lived:
when you're getting an hour long MRI on your completely mutilated ankle and you go through ALL the open handed and weapon forms of TWO different martial arts styles in your head, step-by-step! _________________ "Smile. Show everyone that today you're stronger than you were yesterday." |

When you enjoy practicing various throws in your back yard in the heat of the day with your friend and you're the uke
When you put the school wrestlers into a choke hold and forget they don't know to tap out.
When you practice weapons katas with stage props while waiting during play rehersal
When you actually break the stage props doing so
when you scare your friends (MA or non-MA) while doing your kata
When you plan your work schedule around your martial arts schedule.
When you can determine the MA style of video game characters within 30 seconds.
When you ask your Spanish teacher how to say Japanese words in Spanish
And yes I've done all of these, but I don't play too many combat fighting games, just at my friends once in a while. _________________ "Be Water my friend." |
