Hey guys to meditate is to be aware, to your breath your moods your thoughts. It is the act of mindfulness. If you do meditate just relax into don't clear your mind that is very difficult and would come after much practice instead get to know yourself think of it as having conversationwith yourself. Sounds a little crazy but let me ask you how well do you know yourself? When you ask yourself that question don't depend on what other people have told you about yourself and your life try to come up with those answers by self dialogue. Most of all if your try to meditate have fun don't take it too seriously. _________________ Kisshu fushin oni te hotoke kokoro |

as to your previous post menjo that is what i enjoy most about meditation and i find the longer you meditate the longer that feeling is.

I dont meditate that often but what i think of it as is a state of mindless awareness. I try to stop thinking but be aware of everything and i fyou knwo how you ground your self to the ground in martial arts using your chi to go into the ground, i do the same when meditating but send my chi out in every dirrection trying to connect to everything and just be one with the trees even the walls and t.v. in the room and the phone as its part of the world. _________________ Focus |

um... ok i guess i can see what you are saying there is a form of Tantric meditation that is close to that only you try to connect yourself to all people in order to build compassion.
i personally start with 15min zazen meditation switch to 30 min of chanting then back to 15 min zazen. i find that this is what works best for me but hey evey path in life is a path to enlightenment some just take longer.
