I know some of you are wondering, what in the world is Che-lu? So here is a little info for you.

Che-lu was created in 1975 by Grandmaster John W. Mason in Dover, NH. From there he started schools in Maine, Texas, Wisconsin, NH, and in Kentucky.

We are in the newly formed PUMAA league. So we are looking forward to start the new leauge and season.

If you are in these area, or ever in the state of Kentucky we invite you to come and check us out.

Sorry for responding so late. Someone wanted to know a little bit more about Che-lu, so here you are....enjoy!

C is for charity. We must have love not only for the art, but for all those who are artist and those who non-artist.

H is humbleness. It is something we should strive for daily. Being means you respect those who are in athority over you.

E is empowerment. To be empowerment is to acknowledge in a greater being

L is for leadership. We strive to be leaders in our job, at home, and whevener the need arises

U is for unity. For without unity, nothing can exist.

The background of it is..? Theories are..? Where did it come from before John Mason assembled it? What is it similar to? What about it's structure and movement is unique enough to warrant a new name? I mean, we kind've have to ask these things, since my eyes glaze at lists of moral principles lacking clear references to physical movement, not knowing how that translates into knowing how you move or train.

http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Game/5011/chelu.html

Here's some videos of his son, who holds a 10th degree in that system.

Now, my comments: His son focused on forms competitions, with the present goal to get into movies. I have no idea if that is the totality of Che-lu, as there simply is not enough information provided. On the other hand, he's a tad young to be holding a 10th degree (25 years old).

Yeah, equivalent to a quintuple-Ph.D at 25 does seem a bit worrisome.

There are two Mason. There is the son (the one you guys are talking about ) and then there is his dad (the one I am talking about). Confusing ain't it? (whoever found the website, cool and thank you)

Someone asked about the backgrounds and other things. Grandmaster Mason studied in Korea, Japan, and China (Kung-fu, TKD, and other system which has escaped my brain). He used different formats, movements, and styles to create Che-lu. So Che-lu was created solely by Grandmaster Mason.

Here is the website for Che- lu maybe in can be more help than I am giving now. http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Game/5011/
