Guy goes up to a karate or TKD practicioner.
"Can you teach me Kung Fu"
Guy wears black belt.
"Where did you learn your martial arts from"
"Enter the dragon"
"Look at those chop suey people"
"Those guys would never make it in a real fight"
"My style is better than yours"
"I've mastered martial arts" _________________ To fear death is to limit life - Xin Sarith Azuma Phan Wuku |

Even though I do a form of freestyle karate my girlfriend still calls it Kung Foo. (Spells it like that too! lol)
I may have said this once before. But sometimes when I've been asked to show "one of my moves" I say ok, it's a really quick head kick.
I get into a fighting stance, hold it for a second or two and then say... "Pretty fast eh?" |

"Can you kill somebody?"
My response- "Why?"
somebody throws ball at my head from behind
"why didn't you know that was coming?"
Do I have eyes on the back of my head? C'mon, I wear glasses on the two I have!
and yes, I frequently hear the Kung Fu Fighting song... _________________ "Be Water my friend."

I was playing pool with some of my friends and after the game one of my friends asked me...
"You say you're a black belt in karate, yet, with all of your so-called black belt and all, why is your hand and eye coordination so bad in a simple game of pool?"
My response was...
"I'm sorry! I've never seen a pool table, not one time, in my Dojo nor have I ever seen any classes on the schedule for learning how to play pool or anybody taking pool lessons in my Dojo. I think I was cheated! "
Although all of us got a good laugh from it!

my thoughts when I heard these said are in italics.
My grandmother when my mother told her I'm doing Karate "What's she doing that for?' because it's no good for me
Fellow at the arena where I ice -skate when my friend told him I'm doing karate: "please don't beat me up" uhh that's not the point of MA the point is self transformation and self improvement/enhancement
Man working in the sports shop where I bought my gi in september: " Oh you're goin Karate - in'? You'll have a blackbelt in a year" for a sports store worker who sells gi's you should know you don't get a bb in a year
One of my other friends when I told him of my Shotokan training "when do you get to break bricks?" we don't and not all MA involve breaking bricks/boards |
