I see throwing knives and archery in here now. One of my lesser known weapons I have experimented with is the blowgun.
Actually I got my first blowgun at a time when I was having a lot of trouble breathing. I did it then as a respiratory exercise. One of my home health nurses helped me get one.
Later I found it to be a fun and effective anger management tool. It is very satisfying to take down a picture of someone and find a nice little hole right between the eyes.
I should cut out a picture of Osama and put him up on by target board. |

So you're saying you just picked it up on your own? No formal instruction? Cool.
Isn't that typically a Japanese weapon? Or does someone know of another country that has used it? |

The Philipinno martial arts also teach blowgun, darts, throwing knives and archery. Learning to use a blowgun is fairly easy, as far as accuracy, but there is a whole array of poisons that are used which would be part of the training. Breathing exercises are helpful also, breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. Never breath in through your mouth with a blowgun on your lips.

all annoying little kids in lower school use the outides of Biros as blowdarts and use chewed up paper as the dart! sad little kids! It'd be kewl to learn proper blowdarting (is that correct? Blowdarting???)!!!

No Kicker blowgun and airgun are not the same.
Actually I picked up blowgun several years before I developed an interest in the martial arts.
Poison darts hmmmmm. Might be interesting to go after a few local crows with some. Might cause a problem with the local police though.
I have recently started seeing paintballs for blowguns. Wonder if I could start a new art style? |
