Sorry, just having a light poke... There's a bruce lee quote where he says the best belt is the one that holds ur pants up or something like that.

LOL, not a problem...I just know there are some that aren't too happy with the amount of quotage, didn't know if you were one of them (at the time).
As for learning the beltage, I'll just have to start a new thread... _________________ To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin. |

Never had any belt "blues", per mental state. When I had trained, the "next belt" was hardly a concern. |

I think that everyone has hit that sort of plateu before - i don't think u can participate in the martial arts without hitting some sort of wall from time to time. But IMO it is when we knock down those walls and fight to become that better person, and refuse to give in to stagnancy, that we really show our quality as a martial artist. I've hit many a plateu and smashed into many a wall in my time, even recently giving up for a year and then coming back with a vengeance, dissatisfied with what i had become without my beloved kickboxing.
This is an extremely good article - i'm gonna read it again!

Yeah, throughout some of my training, I had smashed into a wall-literally. |

How about Belt Blues? Does each color have a different blue? I guess. But along with the belt blues, don't forget the "Tourney Blues". Or the "First Class" blues. Nice starting thread, though. |

I must say that his has been a very inspiering article and thread. It made me reflect on how much my belt means to me...not the belt in itself, but all the effort I put in to it. Speaking of which..I'm off to training.. _________________ Read a book! |

i think thats just another symptom of these ridiculous belt systems of learning that we have today in so many places. even the most traditional martial arts, back in the day, didt have all these colors, and stripes for the colors, and other nonsense. _________________ "If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared."
