okay i am taking my brown sash test own Sat. and i am a little nervous about it because of the fact that after this, its going to be mostly grappling till i am bout to test for my black, well besides for the leapord form which is going to be the test after my next one but it is not a very big deal. but anybody else ever been little nervouse about there brown sash, test i know everything i need to know for it but it is the simple fact that i was probably going to have to sparr with are strongest fighter, i sparred with him last time for my cobra patch. and he literaly hit me so hard and so manytimes that he made tears come to my eyse[ i wasnt even crying, water just started coming down i have gotten better as a martial artist since then but still i have that looming feeling of dread bout it, cuss i dont want the same thing to happen.
anyone have any tips of things that helped you when u were testing for brown, i would really be grateful to it, thanks. i know i am still not about to become black sash yet but i still have some worries because i am now bout to be so high. _________________ you must learn different combinations of techniques down to your very soul and they must come without thinking when you finish with one technique, you must immediately go into another until you have attained your goal which is to destroy the enemy. |

If you have been training steadily, and have gone to class, and have met all of your requirements to test, then you should be ok. It is natural to be nervous, so don't let that get to you too much.
As far as sparring the strongest sparrer in class, just give it your best shot. That is all you can do. If you give it your all, and don't hold back, then you should be proud of yourself.
Best of luck on your testing! _________________ www.haysgym.com

You are nervous because you care so much. I was just as nervous taking my very first test as I was taking my Nidan test. Nervousness never fades. My suggestion is clear your mind and do not think about the last time that you were paired with this individual. Just get in there and do what you already know you can do. Good luck! I am sure you will be great! _________________ A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others. |

Like jaymac said you're nervous because you care so much. You obviously value some importance of getting your brown sash which is a good thing. If you've been training regularly and have been meeting the criteria for your next grade you'll be fine.
Good luck and let us know how it goes
