There’s a Karate Kid reboot coming out on YouTube Red. I’d explain what I know of it, but the trailer is far better at it...

There’s some swearing in it, so be careful if you’re at work.

Thoughts?

I also posted about this a while back, with interest in checking it out!

How did I miss that?

Next thing I know, you’re going to tell me I posted about a dozen times in that thread, yet I don’t remember it. Getting old sucks.

This forum is quite large. I wouldn't chalk it up to getting old (at least, not this one.)

Me too. I think it’s a subscription YouTube service with its own original programming, kind of like Netflix. But I’m not sure.

It’s basically a Netflix competitor, but it is only available in USA, Korea, Australia and one or two other countries for now. You pay a monthly fee and get an account that allows you to watch series, movies and other videos that are not available on regular YouTube or exclusive to YouTube red. You can also download videos to your account and watch them whenever you like but you have to log in regularly.

On the one hand I want to watch this but on the other I kind of liked the fact that the Danny/Johnny feud ended when Johnny said "You're alright Larusso" at the end of the first movie. Since I like in the UK and my home internet is provided by my employer I'm not likely to see this though.

Aww!! I thought this was a cinema release, I didn't realise it was a series. And one I won't get access to in the UK. But to be honest, I'm not really sure what to make of it. I loved the original movies (not so much The Next Karate Kid) but as others have said, it ended with Johnny and Daniel on good terms, are we expected to believe Johnny has been sitting stewing about this since the mid 80's? The storyline looks like it's similar to Kreese's part III storyline.

I fully expect it to be a cheese-fest, but I have no doubt in my mind once it's available over here I will be watching it!!

I really want to watch this, but I hate the idea of needing to pay $10 a month for another streaming service. I already have Netflix and Hulu. I just feel that having another one for just show is ludicrous.
