THat IS an option, but tends to get competitors disqualified in "semi contact" tournaments (which i think are wel....i wont' go there). I round kicked a guy in the jaw pretty hard last saturday in a semi contact tourney and was disqualified. The guy was a blackbelt, and i am a 4th kyu.....it was sad. Oh well you know what they say lots of tournament competitors have no MARTIAL skill anyway. BTW i'm not a tournament martial artist. I train for contact and not sport karate.
