Take a look at the Chapasarat Manual.

I train in Silat myself so I'm not down-playing Asia's contribution to MA. The fact is that if it wasn't for Asian martial arts then Western martial arts would be long forgotten. My point is that you don't have to look any further than the nearest karate school to see Western MA.

Could you please explain what they found to prove it? I find it hard to believe that you can ever conclusively say that something as old as martial arts (which have prehistoric roots) were tracked down to a specific area/time. Please expand.
