Please give me some tips on range fighting i get hit to many times when i shouldnt get hit tips appreciated. My Master says whenever they move back you should move forward and smother them and when they move forward you should either smother them or retreat.

I would also like some opinions if i should emulate my masters moves his stuff is very effective and whatever is good i have the attitude i should take it and see if it works for me. Is this correct?

Well I think your master is right and you should try that.

Also you should try to block and counter if you don't already. So if someone trys to punch you you block it or dodge and the you hit them or with a few combos. So you are being aggressive also.

In the end it don't matter what we tell you or anyone else. You got to find what works for you. The only way you will do that is by doing it over and over and over aginst as many differant people as you can. However asking and taking tips is a good way to speed up the process just don't try to do what someone else does be yourself. martial arts not martila science.
