You should ask your instructor to show you. |

I am probably the best belt tier in the world - that's mainly the junior instructors job in the beginning, to tie little kids belts over and over, 10 kids at time, and they get mad if the sides are uneven...well anyway that site was a prety good explanation, but what i do is harder to explain. |

Yes that is a good site for beginner "tie-ers"..actually I have a way that I tie my belt so that you don't get that misalligned clump in the back... yeah that way is hard to explain too....(but everyone does ask me how I do it cos it looks so "trim & neat"

Your just going to get confused listening to online instructions...
Ask the your Teacher, whom you pay for lessons to teach you how to do it. You pay him after all don't you?

I tie my belt so it lays right on top of itself all the way round.
Hold one end on your middle at required length. With other end go round twice right on top. then underneath the whole belt and tie right over left. Confused!!!..ask you instructor.
So does every one elses belt go around twice? one guy i train with from malaysia has a one-round belt. Any one else got one of those?
I spoke to a Ju-jutsu bloke the other day and said he'd tied his belt badly cos of the cross at the back. He said only senior students were allowed to tie it without the cross and that it supported the back?! Interesting
I thought one continuos loop with left over right/ right over left knot. Symbolised infinity like the learning of a martial arts there is no end.
Dribble,
Bretty |
