I know my karate uniform is called a gi. Is there a specific name for the kung fu uniform (jacket, pants, sash)? _________________ American Kenpo Karate- First Degree Black Belt

Im intrested in this thread now, I went on a google search for a name for the "Kung Fu Uniform"
Theres nothing about it at all, its just reffered to as the "Kung Fu Uniform" in all contexts I read.
I have my suspicion that it hasnt been given a name like the "Karate Uniform" is called a Gi/Kaikogi |

There is no such thing as a kung fu uniform. The thing you are sometimes asked to wear in a chinese martial arts class is a modern reproduction of old chinese clothing and as such, there is no name for that. It was just normal everyday clothing. _________________ what do i know, i'm an idiot. |

Which is exactly why I'm always a little bit suspicious of Kung Fu schools insisting that you buy the baggy black trousers and insisting you wear a white t-shirt. In Hong Kong, I trained in shorts and what-ever t-shirt I was wearing that day. _________________ what do i know, i'm an idiot. |
