Judo is very effective on the ground. BJJ is also a good choice if you want to learn more than throwing techniques and grappling.

I suggest you do both if you can
BJJ and Judo!
I know i would if i could, but yea i've done kickboxing and Judo and i think you'll find that doing Judo will give you decent skills that you need in grappaling situations.

just goin through the old threads and judo is a good grappling art. with all kinds of locks, bar, chokes, pins and lots more. bon what did you end up doin?
