I think you're missing something on this one... A keyboard warrior isn't exactly a title someone seeks. |
A hero isn't a title someone seeks but it happens. |
You're going even further in the wrong direction... "Keyboard Warrior" is a pejorative. _________________ 5th Geup Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do/Hap Ki Do

The cup is half full or half empty; I choose it to be half full, regarding a "Keyboard warrior" and sometimes not. |

To me a keyboard warrior is someone who will say something online, via text message etc that they wouldn't say in person. It can be someone acting tough, or opinionated or just obnoxious.
YouTube is full of keyboard warriors. Hate the place. |

A keyboard warrior is one of those sad examples of the weakness of mind in the human condition provided by at anonymity of the internet. It has a very negative connotation when used, although not as bad as a "Troll" of which we had a mild example right here on KF a few months ago. _________________ "We don't have any money, so we will have to think" - Ernest Rutherford |

That definition never ever once crossed my mind! A Keyboard Warrior, by your provided link, would be stopped very quickly here at KF!! Having said that, Is this type of Keyboard Warrior on MA forums nowadays on a normal basis??

I've had the misfortune of falling victim to a KW as described, years ago on another forum.
He made my life hell; this is no exaggeration to say so.
An unsuspecting person just doesn't know how sick and crazy, some people are on the internet.
This site "Karateforums.com" however is regaining my trust for forums and is the only one I belong to.
Apart from a Wing Chun site I signed up to and right away when had finished with giving them my details, there was an attempted hack on my e-mail address. |

Respect and fellowship are the cornerstone of the KF forums, also the only ones that I frequent these days. _________________ "We don't have any money, so we will have to think" - Ernest Rutherford |

That respect and fellowship you speak about concerning KF, it begins with Patrick, the KF Administrator. Without that steadfastly leadership of Patrick, anarchy would rule the day unchecked.

Where KarateForums is concerned, a "Keyboard Warrior" is someone who has absolutely no MA experience whatsoever, or very little, and pawning it off as it's something.
Hard to nail someone like that because they are well read and cover their tracks.
I might suspect one being such, but one can wallpaper an entire house with suppose and/or suspect.
Two people I can't stand...thief's and liar's!! I don't want them near me...EVER!!

I tend to think that you would know after reading their posts. There are indications. There is a difference between someone that has lived their life time studying the arts (in depth knowledge) and someone that has read enough to get by either online or via books (limited knowledge).
On the other side of the coin you could have a lower grade passing themselves off as a higher grade to gain the respect of fellow members.
Not sure which is worse but I do think you can pick up on them via the way they describe, explain and question. _________________ The person who succeeds is not the one who holds back, fearing failure, nor the one who never fails-but the one who moves on in spite of failure.
