Cyborg is still fairly decent. As long a you can get over Van Damme acting like a robot.

...or is that a robot, trying to act like Van Damme....????

Ah, but in Cyborg, he wasn't the robot! It was the lady. She supposedly had some info. that needed to get to Atlanta, and JCVD was escorting her there. But Fender and his band of merry criminals hijacked her to benefit monetarily by getting her there first!

I'm watching it on Amazon Prime, and I'm about half way through it. JCVD was up above someone doing a split over them and, somehow, they walked under him without seeing him and then they stabbed him.

If my memory serves me correctly, it was that huge guy from "Gladiator". I have a friend that lived in LA, and she met him at an event. He kept asking her out, but she was married at the time. She said he was very nice, but HUGE!!

Consulting the IMDB page, that sounds right to me, jaypo. I finished the movie last night.

I tend not to be too critical. It was alright - had some classic 80s elements to it. I didn't enjoy it as much as 6 Bullets, a recent Jean-Claude Van Damme film that I watched a while back. That said, it had its fun and interesting moments.

The villain was a special kind of evil. Seemed like he took special pleasure in being a big jerk. Heh. After a couple of encounters, you wonder why he doesn't just kill JCVD, instead of torturing him.

The scene with JCVD up on the crucifix was pretty striking (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XITc_tuH2o).

I went reading about the movie and found this interesting back story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyborg_%28film%29#Production

Essentially that Albert Pyun, a director specializing in low budget/B movies, was working with a production company who had secured the rights to do films for both Spider-man and He-Man. But they ran into financial issues. So some of the costumes and sets they had created ended up being used for Cyborg, which Pyun supposedly wrote in one weekend.

Pretty crazy.

That is crazy! A weekend! Now I'm tempted to go and watch it again. I think I remember, even with nostalgia glasses on, a final fight which was essentially a yell-off between JCVD and the bad guy. Well, that does it, I'm pouring a drink and tracking this down.
