I do alot of back leg kneeing becuase it seems it is the only way to get power. Can you master the leading leg knee? Like, with out the full draw of the back leg, you know what I am talking about right?

I think it's a little tough to do. A lead leg kick is different, jsut due to the momentum that can be created by the length of the leg. With a knee the "lever: is alot shorter, and would not generate enough power to do much damage.

i think if you put a twist and then strike with your front leg you can generate more power, maybe a slight jump too..it takes a lot of skill mind to get it right (we learn this in thai boxing)

I think to get any power the knee is going to come from behind you, no matter where it is going to start from. So if its your leading leg, you are either going to lift it, then swing it back and then blast it up, or simply step foward one step with the rear leg, then explode with the lead-knee-thats-now-the-rear knee, if you know what I mean.

Slim is right, you could only generate enough power from the back. You could fake the front leg, and then follow up with something else.

I myself think that you can get enough power into the technique by practise on a bag or something that will help you regulate how hard your technique is.I think that another bug influence on the power of your maeashi hiza geri is the way you execute it.

Keep tryin'

C Ya!

I like the switch-step lead knee myself. It's just like the switch-step lead round kick.

Lead legs cannot get as much momentum and theywill not do as much damage. I would stick with the back
